Resident of Ingushetia complains about law enforcers' inaction in a car scam case

Murat Baimurziev, a resident of Ingushetia, has fallen victim to a malefactor, who had rented a truck from him and refused to return it. The courts sided with Baimurziev' and law enforcers are protracting the inquiry into the case, Pavel Misharin, an advocate, has informed. Baimurziev himself has noted that he had filed an application with law enforcement bodies back in 2015, but the case was opened only eight years later.

According to Mr Misharin, in December 2013, Baimurziev bought a truck from Akhmet Mustafin, a resident of Samara. Baimurziev registered the car in his name, and in January 2014, by a verbal agreement, he leased it to another resident of Ingushetia, who did not pay the rent and disappeared, refusing to return the truck.

On January 30, 2015, this resident of Ingushetia, in collusion with his wife, committed a large-scale fraud against Baimurziev. Baimurziev and the wife of the resident of Ingushetia concluded a sale contract, in which they put the owner's fictitious signature. The statute of limitations for bringing to justice for this act is 10 years, the advocate has noted, adding that earlier the court had ruled that the above resident of Ingushetia should return the car to Baimurziev. "The court's ruling has not been enforced for five years," Pavel Misharin has concluded.

Baimurziev believes that corruption may be the reason why law enforcers would not investigate the case.

Baimurziev also received threats from one of the bosses of the investigating body. The advocate has explained that he had earlier pointed in his complaints about the corruption interest of this law enforcer.
