Father with many children from Kalmykia appeals to court against being sent to special military operation

Oleg Azizov, a resident of Elista, was mobilized despite having five children and suffering from a spinal hernia. After the Elista City Court had refused to consider the Oleg Azizov’s claim, the case was sent to the garrison court.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that residents of Southern Russia have repeatedly complained about, in their opinion, the unlawful mobilization of men suffering from serious health problems or having occupation allowing to get determent from the military service.

Oleg Azizov received the summons on September 21, 2022, the day the mobilization was announced. The man provided the military registration and enlistment office with confirmation that he was diagnosed with a spinal hernia and also informed military officials that he had five children, including three minors. However, those facts were ignored. The mobilized man filed complaints to the Russian Ombudsman, the General Prosecutor’s Office, and the Military Prosecutor’s Office, but received a response that only the fathers of four minor children were granted a deferment from the mobilization, the “Kavkaz.Realii”* reports.
