Astrakhan resident fined for pacifist graffiti

The court fined a resident of Astrakhan for an inscription discrediting the Russian Armed Forces.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on March 4, 2022, an article came into force in Russia providing for up to 50,000 roubles fine for citizens for discrediting the country’s armed forces. Participants of pacifist actions, authors of posts in social media, and residents who have entered into disputes with their neighbours or colleagues at work about the actions of the Russian Armed Forces are being brought to liability under the above article, including in Southern Russia. Repeated violation within a year threatens criminal prosecution.

An administrative protocol was drawn up against Andrei Rudyakov for putting an inscription “discrediting” the Russian Armed Forces on the building, the “Kavkaz.Realii”* reports.
