Social network users condemn North-Ossetian woman for ill-treating her son

The villager from North Ossetia who has injured her child for disobedience should be deprived of parental rights and freedom, social media users believe. Some of them questioned the mother's mental health.

According to law enforcers, on July 25, in the Prigorodny District (North Ossetia), the 34-year-old villager burned hands of her four-year-old son against a gas-electric stove, thus wanting to punish him for disobedience and taking a ball at the store.

The child has already been discharged from the hospital and placed in a social rehabilitation centre, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for North Ossetia has reported.

A case is being investigated against the mother under the article on an intentional infliction of moderate bodily harm. Policemen and guardianship officials collect documents to deprive her of parental rights.

Most Instagram users have condemned the mother's act and called for depriving her of parental rights.

"Such mothers should be deprived of parental rights, this is real sadism," the user fatia8206 has written.

However, some commentators doubted that the child would be better off without his mother. "Will he be better off in an orphanage? Punish her conditionally and let guardianship monitor the family; leaving the child without mother is even worse," the user angelina151569 has noted.

Some users believe that the mother is unhealthy and urge to first understand the reasons of the incident, and, if necessary, provide her with due care. "She needs medical treatment; and let the child stay with her. Anyway, no one can replace the mother," the user rozabelaia53 believes.
