Rights defenders warn about threat of deportation of Kadyrov's critics from Austria

The refugees from Chechnya who have criticized Kadyrov may be deported from Austria to Russia, the "Vayfond" human rights association has reported. This is about the brothers Murad and Mukharbek Aslamkhanov, the Chechen blogger, Tumso Abdurakhmanov, has explained.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 16, 2020, the Austrian police detained Murad Aslamkhanov on charges of illegal firearms possession, who had recorded a threatening video message addressed to the head of Chechnya. Murad was detained with his brother Mukharbek. Murad Aslamkhanov faces a prison term for carrying firearms, but his detention is backed by the desire of Austrian law enforcers to ensure his safety after his address to Ramzan Kadyrov, Aslamkhanovs' sister and Musa Lomaev, a Chechen blogger living in Finland have pointed out.

Murad Aslamkhanov began running his YouTube channel after the resonant humiliation in Chechnya of Salman Tepsurkaev, who had collaborated with the opposition 1ADAT* Telegram channel.

The Austrian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has found it possible to deport to Russia two refugees from Chechnya, who had earlier "grossly opposed the Kadyrov's regime," the "Vayfond"association has reported on its Telegram channel. Human rights defenders are sure that in case of deportation, the natives of Chechnya will be in mortal danger.
