Djabiev's widow intends to seek compensation for his death

The family of Inal Djabiev, who died after interrogation, will seek compensation after the court has acquitted him within the case of an attempt on the life of the head of the South-Ossetian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), Oksana Sotieva, Inal's widow, has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 15, the Supreme Court (SC) of South Ossetia stopped the criminal case against Inal Djabiev, who died after interrogation, and Nikolai Tskhovrebov on charges of attempting to assassinate the MIA head, since no proofs of their involvement in the attempt was presented during the trial.

Seven law enforcers were accused for Djabiev's death; and Andrei Tskhovrebov, a Deputy MIA head, was removed from office.Djabiev's death sparked massive protests and a political crisis in South Ossetia

Oksana Sotieva has stressed that she intends to seek compensation. "After all that they have done to my husband, no compensation will bring him back. But for my children, of course, I will demand everything that they are entitled by the law to from both the state and the MIA. No compensation is worth a human life! It won't console the mother's pain and won't return the father to the children; but we'll file a civil lawsuit for compensation of the moral harm," Ms Sotieva has emphasized.
