Court refuses to transfer blogger Ramazanov to house arrest

The court has left Azerbaijani blogger, Rashad Ramazanov, in custody by rejecting the motion to transfer him to house arrest, Elchin Sadygov, an advocate, has informed. Rashad's wife has added that at his examination at the mental clinic, doctors diagnosed him with a neurological disorder.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Rashad Ramazanov (also known as Rashad Agaaddin) was arrested for four months. He was charged with illegal drug dealing. Earlier, his wife stated that he was being persecuted for his critical posts in social networks against Azerbaijani authorities.

His wife, Kenul Ramazanova, said that her husband had a nervous strain, but he refused hospitalization: "However, we are worried that the absence of proper medical treatment may lead to aggravation of neurological disorders."
