Activist Aslan Naptugov rearrested after conflict with KChR's law enforcers

After six days of arrest, Aslan Naptugov, a Circassian activist, was arrested again for two months on charges of extremism. His acquaintance believes that Aslan is being pressured in order to obtain the testimony needed by investigators.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Naptugov was detained on May 24 for petty hooliganism – he allegedly tried to provoke a brawl and insulted law enforcers.

The attention of law enforcement bodies was attracted by the activities of the "Solidarity" International Public Trade Union Organization  (known as MOPOS), a source from investigating bodies of the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KChR) has informed. Within the criminal case against members of this organization, which dealt with various issues from the quality of medical services to human rights, seven local residents have been detained, including Naptugov.

Naptugov took part in "people's control" raids held by the MOPOS dedicated to the struggle against forced vaccination, the MOPOS Instagram* channel in the KChR reports.

According to a Naptugov's acquaintance, he is also a member of the Union of Independent Doctors (Independent Doctors' Association, – note of the "Caucasian Knot"). "His persecution has to do with his human rights activities; he's become undesirable to KChR's government," he said.

In his Facebook* page, Naptugov placed several posts with an ironic assessment of the actions of the Russian Army in Ukraine and the goals of the special operation. Besides, the blogger drew an analogy between the special operation in Ukraine and the Caucasian War.
