Four TSU employees suffered during students' protest

The Tbilisi State University (TSU) has agreed to comply with a students' demand to change the exam format after students seized the rector's study. During the students' protest, some TSU employees suffered; four of them were hospitalized.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that after students' protests who demanded to admit remote exams because of the high cost of renting housing in Tbilisi, the Georgian capital, on June 4, the TSU decided to provide some students with free accommodation in a hostel, but refused to conduct the examination session remotely (in the online format).

TSU students have partially achieved the fulfilment of their demands after they broke into and occupied the study of the Rector, Giorgi Sharvashidze, the "News-Georgia" reported on June 10.

The protesters demand to introduce a hybrid – full-time and online format of studies at the TSU until the end of the current semester. The problem is caused by a several-fold increase in the cost of renting housing in Tbilisi.

A few hours after the rector's office was seized, the TSU agreed to fulfil the students' demand to change the exam format.

During the students' protest, some TSU employees suffered; four of them were hospitalized, the Georgian service of "Radio Liberty"* reported on June 10.
