Police use special equipment against demonstrators in Yerevan

The police used stun grenades against supporters of the opposition near the Armenian government building and began to detain activists. According to the preliminary information, some people were injured.

Today, MPs from the “Civil Contract” faction has not appeared at the parliamentary meeting announced by the opposition on the issue of the future of Nagorno-Karabakh. The protesters went to the government building to demand explanations for the disruption of the parliament meeting.

Starting from April 25, the Armenian opposition has been holding protest actions demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. On April 22, the Armenian Prime Minister stated that he ruled out the signing of documents with Azerbaijan without discussion with residents of Karabakh. However, Arthur Vanetsyan, the leader of the “Fatherland” Party, announced actions of disobedience with the aim of Nikol Pashinyan’s resignation.
