Ukraine: former head of security division of ASUACE perishes in hostilities

During the special military operation in Ukraine, Andrei Khaustov, a former head of the security division of the Astrakhan State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (ASUACE), has perished, the university administration has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Edgar Bulkuntaev, a marine serviceman, became the 18th native of the Astrakhan Region, whose death in Ukraine was confirmed by the authorities.

Andrei Khaustov was 53 years old; he was born in the city of Lisichansk, the Lugansk Region. He had an extensive experience of working at law enforcement and state security agencies, the ASUACE administration has reported on the university website.

In March 2022, Andrei Khaustov decided to quit the university and volunteer for the special operation in Ukraine. He left behind his wife and three children.

He became the 19th resident of the Astrakhan Region who perished in Ukraine.
