The funeral of Alik Tsaava, a Georgian volunteer who perished in Ukraine, was held in the city of Zugdidi with military honours.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 24, the bodies of volunteers, Alik Tsaava and Zaza Bitsadze, were brought to Tbilisi. Both perished on April 16 in a road accident in the Lugansk Region, when they tried to take the mortally wounded Arkady Kasradze out of the combat zone.

Compatriots and members of various political parties came to Tsaava's funeral to express their condolences to his family, the "InterPressNews" has reported.

"Unfortunately, today we already have ten casualties," Major General Sergey Kravchuk, the Ukraine's military attaché in Georgia, has stated as quoted by the Georgian Channel One.

The memory of Tsaava was honoured with a salvo of arms; the orchestra played the national anthem of Georgia.
