Flight restrictions in Southern Russia extended by another week

The bans on aircraft take-off and landing at airports of Anapa, Gelendjik, Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don and Elista have been extended until May 7, the "Rosaviatsiya" (Russian Federal Air Transport Agency) has announced.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 24, Russian troops launched a special operation in Ukraine, after which, on March 2, the operation of airports in Southern Russia was suspended, namely, in Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar, Anapa, Gelendjik, Elista and Stavropol. Then the ban on flights to Stavropol was lifted, while the restrictions on the operation of other airports have been repeatedly extended, most recently until May 1.

The "Rosaviatsiya" has extended the flight restrictions at 11 Russian airports in Southern and Central Russia until 3:45 a.m. Moscow time on May 7, the Agency reported. "Flights have been temporarily limited to the airports of Anapa, Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Gelendjik, Krasnodar, Kursk, Lipetsk, Rostov-on-Don, Simferopol and Elista," the press service of the "Rosaviatsiya" has told the TASS today.
