Sochi resident refuses to plead guilty of discrediting Russian militaries

Vyacheslav Chistoserdov, a Sochi resident, has stated that he disagrees with the protocol drawn up against him by policemen under the article on discrediting the Russian Armed Forces because of the leaflets condemning the special operation in Ukraine.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 5, Chistoserdov reported that his home had been searched within the case about telephone terrorism. According to Vyacheslav, he was suspected of making leaflets that condemn the special military operation in Ukraine.

Residents of the Krasnodar Territory are holding actions against the special operation in Ukraine; and they are brought to justice under articles on discrediting militaries and spreading fakes about the Russian Armed Forces. Thus, a court in Sochi found that on March 4 and 7, a 20-year-old Sochi woman posted stickers in a store the content of which discredited the Russian Army; the court imposed two fines on her.

The search in Chistoserdov's apartment was held on April 4. According to his story, his wife was shocked. During the search, his computer and three phones were taken away from him.

Vyacheslav fears that law enforcers' interest in him will not stop with the visit to his home and a search thereof.

He said that he is 47 years old; he is a teacher of mathematics and computer science; and a year ago he was already detained at a rally in support of the opposition leader, Alexei Navalny*; then he was accused of violating the procedure for organizing and holding a rally and fined.
