Baku explains termination of gas supply to Nagorno-Karabakh by repair works

After repairs, the gas supply to dwelling settlements of Nagorno-Karabakh will resume on March 28; and the next day, it will be fully restored for the entire unrecognized republic, the "Azerigaz" Production Association (PA) has promised.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 23, the Nagorno-Karabakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) accused Azerbaijan of "humanitarian terrorism" because of the cessation of gas supply.

The supply of natural gas to Nagorno-Karabakh will resume on March 28, the "Azerigaz" PA has reported. "On March 28, natural gas will be supplied to Khankendi (the Armenian name is Stepanakert) and other nearby settlements," the "Azerigaz" PA, a structure of the SOCAR State Oil Company of Azerbaijan, which manages the country's gas distribution network, said in its released statement.

First, the gas will be supplied in the test mode, the statement says. "On March 29, the supply of natural gas to the territory of the Karabakh Economic District will be fully restored," the PA has stated, explaining that the reason for the shutdown was a malfunction of the gas distribution lines.
