Father of Dagestani native denies accusation of violence against his daughter in Moscow

Relatives did not try to kidnap a native of Dagestan in Moscow, her father said. According to him, the parents did not have conflicts with their daughter, since it was not planned to force her to marry.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on February 7, the crisis centre “Fortress” announced that Aishat, a 20-year-old native of Dagestan, who was injured when her relatives tried to kidnap her and bring her home, stayed in a safe place. Aishat was diagnosed with brain concussion and bruises. A young man, her companion, was also diagnosed with beatings.

At a police station, Aishat’s father began to beat her and then threatened to kill her. A policeman, who did not understand the meaning of the father’s words, decided that the father was showing concern for his daughter.

Aishat’s father Ansar Khiramagomedov stated that there had been no kidnapping, the “Kavkaz.Realii”* reports.

Advocate Dmitry Zakhvatov explained the reaction of the policemen, who were trying to reconcile the daughter with her father. “In the regions of Northern Caucasus, what has recently appeared is being presented as traditions. It is generally accepted there that a woman is a thing and should obey a man,” the advocate said.

Let us remind you that Aishat contacted the crisis centre “Fortress” back in October 2021 after she ran away from her family. She said that her relatives controlled and tortured her.
