Promise of Chechen authorities to ignore critics was implication of Kadyrov's meeting with Putin

By responding to their statements, Chechen authorities have themselves created popularity for their critics; and the decision to refuse from further commenting on criticism has resulted from Kadyrov's meeting with Putin amid the conflict with the Yangulbaev family, analysts have noted.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the words of Adam Delimkhanov, an adviser to the head of Chechnya who threatened to "cut off the heads" of Yangulbaevs, sparked a special resonance.

Hereinafter, Kadyrov's team won't comment to journalists on the statements about the situation in the region made by the critics who live abroad, Akhmed Dudaev, the Minister of Information of Chechnya, has stated.

The Chechen minister's statement about the intention to stop responding to criticism looks like the result of Kadyrov's meeting with Putin, says Ekaterina Sokiryanskaya, the director of the Centre for Conflict Analysis and Prevention.

"I don't exclude that this statement is a tactical move aimed to get out of an extremely unpleasant situation, while saving the image. On the one hand, not to give back, and on the other, to calm down the media scandal at least a little," she has noted.

Ruslan Kutaev, the President of the Assembly of Caucasian Nations, has also admitted that the new position of Chechen authorities was a consequence of Kadyrov's visit to Putin, which had cooled the condemnation level of Chechen authorities' opponents.
