Roundtable participants in Volgograd report pressure on opponents of vaccination and QR codes

Residents of Volgograd refuse to get vaccinated fearing for their health; for this they are suspended from work, and they are forced to defend their interests in court, Ivan Ivanov, a lawyer, has stated. Marina Arkhipova, an activist, said that after she recorded a video message to the Russian president asking to cancel QR codes, the police demanded an explanation from her.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the state servants of the Volgograd Region, who has rejected the vaccination against coronavirus, are left without livelihood after being removed from work. A number of such workers filed lawsuits challenging the authority of the "Rospotrebnadzor" (Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing) to issue orders on mandatory vaccination. In particular, the courts are considering the lawsuits lodged by three school employees and Natalia Kuznetsova, an employee of the MFC (Multifunctional Centre).

In December 2021, Nadezhda Baganina, a seamstress at a Volgograd factory, who was removed from work because of absence of vaccination against coronavirus, achieved reinstatement at work.

Anatoly Sudakov, a geographer and biologist, a former teacher, said that for the last two years he worked as a librarian in Volgograd. He said that on October 1, 2021, he was removed from work without any preservation of his salary.

Mr Sudakov has noted that he was not persuading people to reject vaccination, but urged everyone to take a serious approach to deciding on the need for vaccination.

Ms Arkhipova has stated that she is in favour of voluntary vaccination. After she and her supporters recorded a video message to the Russian president in November 2021, the police came to her house, she has stated.
