Abubakar Yangulbaev tells details of his interrogation by police

Abubakar Yangulbaev, a lawyer for the North-Caucasian branch of the "Committee against Torture" (CaT), said that he was interrogated as a witness within the case of justifying terrorism because of his publication on the Telegram channel "1Adat"*; they took his explanations about the denunciation of his moderation. Abubakar denied his involvement in the oppositional Telegram channel.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 28, Yangulbaev's home was searched. He himself was taken to a police station, but later released.

According to Yangulbaev, who speaks in a video posted on the CaT's Telegram channel, during the interrogation he was asked about his activities in the CaT and his involvement in the Telegram channel "1Adat".

A source from the CaT has confirmed that Abubakar has his brother, Ibragim Yangulbaev.

The video, in which Ibragim Yangulbaev speaks about his involvement in the "Adat" movement, was posted in the pro_chechnya Instagram public that supports the Chechen authorities.

Let us note here that the "Adat" movement was discussed at the event in honour of the arrival of Rubati Mitsaeva.

"Mitsaeva only said what Kadyrov people told her ... They have been fighting with us since the first days of our work, and Yangulbaev surname has also been named by them for a long time, but unofficially," a member of one of the Internet communities has informed.

On December 25, Abubakar Yangulbaev reported the kidnapping of 37 of his relatives living in Chechnya.
