Analysts explain persecution of streamers by Chechen authorities

The harassment of bloggers in the Chechen Instagram public at the initiative of Magomed Daudov, the Speaker of the Chechen Parliament, is caused by authorities' desire for total control over all spheres of life, analysts believe. The administrators of the public have posted two new videos with "education" of girls and promised that the demand from men "will be still greater."

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Speaker Daudov had harshly condemned the republic's residents who broadcast live in social networks. He treated only discussions of "serious topics" as admissible and called on relatives and local authorities to "deal" with the users of TikTok and Bigo Live, who were running empty talks on these messengers.

Magomed Khamidov, a political analyst, has stated that Daudov's calls and threats to track users' behaviour in social networks originate from authorities' inadequacy. According to his story, first of all, authorities are worried about criticism addressed to them, but they still present themselves as guardians of morality.

Authorities are committed to total control over the society, Oyub Titiev, a human rights defender, has noted.
