Ali Bakaev posts video on attack on "Rosgvardiya" servicemen in Chechnya

Ali Bakaev, a native of Chechnya, whom law enforcers treat as the organizer of the attack on "Rosgvardiya" (Russian National Guard) servicemen committed in the village of Naurskaya, has started a YouTube channel and in his first posted video announced a series of video materials, in which he would present his version of events in order to prevent his extradition from Ukraine to Russia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Russian law enforcers had accused Ali Bakaev of organizing an attack on a "Rosgvardiya" unit committed in the district centre of Naurskaya in Chechnya. Law enforcers reported that Bakaev was put on the international wanted list by the Interpol. On June 12, 2017, a Bakaev's audio message appeared, in which he claimed his non-involvement in the attack. In 2019, it became known that the Interpol had cancelled the circular on the search for Ali Bakaev.

On September 29, on his newly-launched YouTube channel, Ali Bakaev posted a new video message about his innocence and his intention to defend his honour.

"My name is Ali Bakaev; I am a Chechen by nationality. I have been in Ukraine since February 1, 2018. In Russia, I am accused as an alleged organizer of the attack on the 'Rosgvardiya' unit in Chechnya on March 24, 2017. Earlier, I made an audio message, explaining briefly that I have nothing to do with the attack, and invited the respective structures to get in touch with me. But no one did. Apparently, they want to make a scapegoat out of me. Therefore, I am making my video appeal aiming to defend my honour," Mr Bakaev has stated, promising to narrate his version of the events in his subsequent videos.
