A tractor driver blown up by a mine in Agdam District

During reconstruction works in the village of Garvand in the Agdam District, a tractor driver ran over an anti-tank mine and was injured in an explosion.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that residents of Azerbaijan are very often blown up by mines in the Karabakh conflict zone. So, on August 29, Shukur Tagiev, a resident of the Dashkesan District, was blown up by a mine while grazing sheep and taken to a hospital in severe condition.

Demining areas after the combat actions in Nagorno-Karabakh may take years, while clearing the territories of military operations from ammunition is a long and difficult process, military analysts note.

During the period from November 10, 2020, to September 21, 2021, seven soldiers and 23 civilians were killed in mine explosions in the conflict zone, and 91 soldiers and 38 civilians, including an excavator driver, were injured, the General Prosecutor’s Office of Azerbaijan reported.
