Observer attacked in Makhachkala

In Makhachkala, an unidentified man has attacked Ibragim Nazhmudinov, a member of the election commission with an advisory vote from the "Yabloko" Party, by accusing him of obstructing the work of the election commission. The police became interested in the incident.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 17, the voting for candidates for Russian State Duma MPs, the republic's People's Assembly and local self-governments began in Dagestan.

Ibragim Nazhmudinov was attacked in the morning on September 18, when he was approaching a kindergarten in Gagarin Street, where a polling station is located. On September 17, the attacker was at polling station No. 1079 and introduced himself as an observer from the "Edinaya Rossia" (United Russia) Party, Mr Nazhmudinov has explained. "He began asking why on the previous day I interfered with the work of the commission at the polling station and then he hit my face. A brawl began. More people jumped out of the same car, but they stood and did not interfere," Ibragim told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

He did not report the incident to the police, but told about the incident to coordinators of the "Observers of Dagestan" movement. Information about the attack was posted on the "Dagestani Observers" Telegram channel.
