Elista: cars of candidates' proxies damaged after complaints about violations

Three proxies of a candidate for a State Duma MP have claimed that some unidentified persons had punctured tires of their cars left near polling stations. One of them was attacked at the polling station when he tried to record a violation.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 17, Kalmykia, like the entire Russia, began three day voting for candidates to the State Duma.

Ivan Chucheev, a proxy for Sanal Ubushiev, a candidate for an MP, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that he was attacked on at polling station No. 33 in micro-district No. 3 of Elista, the capital of Kalmykia, at about 1:50 p.m. Moscow time.

"I entered the polling station and began examining the logbook with voters' names. I found a violation: some names were crossed out in pencil. I just started talking with the chairman of the precinct election commission, when they grabbed my phone from behind. I caught up with this guy, dumped him near the entrance, but two others attacked me. Then, policemen came up, detained him and began taking evidence from us. And when we went out into the street, I saw that my car had two punctured tires," said Ivan Chucheev.

Two other Ubushiev's proxies have also reported about their punctured tires.
