South-Ossetia oppositionists call for no-confidence vote to government

Fourteen South-Ossetian MPs have demanded to discuss the no confidence in the government at the parliament session. Authorities have failed with their promises to index salaries and are hiding the results of the audit of budget spending, the oppositionists assert.

The letter addressed to Speaker, Alan Tadtaev, whose photo was posted by David Sanakoev, an MP and one of the signatories to the appeal, in his Facebook page, does not indicate any specific reasons for no confidence vote, but only notes that this is an MP's constitutional right. However, Sanakoev himself explained that one of the reasons was in authorities' failure to universally index salaries starting July.

"They increased salaries at some institutions, but failed to do it at others. Many payments were delayed at all, which had never happened in the republic for a long time. The executive power cannot explain what the reasons of this collapse are," David Sanakoev has explained, noting that recently a treasury check was held in the republic, which, according to the opposition, revealed facts of inappropriate spending of budget funds.
