Director of water park in Volzhsky suspected of violating rights of visitors

An administrative case was instituted against the director of the water park in Volzhsky, which employees refused to let a family with a disabled child in, the “Rospotrebnadzor” (Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare) reports.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on August 3, it became known that the employees of the water park in Volzhsky refused to let in a family with a disabled child who had come for a vacation from Astrakhan. The administration of the water park explained their ban by taking care of other vacationers.

After posts in the media on a story about the denial of a family from Astrakhan to the water park, which provoked a wide public outcry, an administrative case was instituted against individual entrepreneur Grigory Gazaryan, a manager of the “21st Century” water park, an official from the regional department of the “Rospotrebnadzor” reported.

The case was instituted under Part 5 of Article 14.8. of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation “Denial of access to services to a consumer for reasons related to his or her state of health,” the official from the Department for the Volgograd Region of the “Rospotrebnadzor” specified.

“It was found that on August 2, a minor child with special needs was denied the opportunity to visit the water park and use its services for reasons related to his state of health,” the official told the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.
