A resident of Makhachkala kidnapped, his relatives complain

For the third day, Makhachkala resident Timurlan Abakarov has not been contacting his relatives and friends, and extremist posts appear on his page on a social media platform. Law enforcers are fabricating a criminal case against Timurlan Abakarov, his relatives suggest.

Timurlan Abakarov disappeared on July 28, his cousin says. She complained that the law enforcement bodies have not yet provided any information about his whereabouts.

“Stories with a black flag and a post with a photo of a man who left for Syria appeared on my brother’s page on Instagram ... We believe the post was left by those who kidnapped him,” Timurlan Abakarov’s cousin emphasized.

The disappearance of Timurlan Abakarov was preceded by law enforcers’ offers for cooperation, the relative of the disappeared man noted. “He was threatened that if he didn’t work for them, he would face troubles. The brother did not understand what they wanted from him, because he didn’t have any information,” the cousin said.

25-year-old Timurlan Abakarov became an orphan recently: his mother died two months ago. Of close relatives, he has only the cousin now.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on July 22, the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) reported about the detention in the Stavropol Territory of seven residents of Dagestan, Karachay-Cherkessia, and the Stavropol Territory, suspected of plotting an explosion at a police department in Kislovodsk. One of the detainees, Makhach Bashirov, a resident of Dagestan, was taken away from his house to some unknown destination by law enforcers, and his relatives filed a complaint to the police about his kidnapping. On July 22, residents of the Khasavyurt District held in Makhachkala an action of solidarity with Makhach Bashirov.
