Mother of soldier who perished in Maykop doubts suicide version

On the eve of his death, the conscript soldier from Voronezh, who was found dead in a military unit in Maykop, the capital of Adygea, shared his plans for the future, his mother said. She has suggested that hazing could be the cause of her son's death.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the perished soldier was found in the field where military servicemen were conducting their exercises. The main military investigation department of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) has opened a criminal case under the article on bringing a person to suicide.

Irina, the mother of the deceased soldier, has suggested that her son's death had to do with the threats he received and hazing. According to her story, investigators are conducting a posthumous psychiatric examination to define whether the deceased had had suicidal inclinations.

Irina is sure that her son had no thoughts of suicide. “We communicated with him constantly, until June 14 – the day before his death. Everything was normal; he made plans for the future; he wanted to operate and service military equipment ... There was an option for him to switchover to contractual service. He was also considering an option of completing his studies at the university upon returning from the army,” she said.
