110 Azerbaijanis return home from Dagestani camp

A group of 110 Azerbaijanis has left the "Ogonyok" camp located in the Kaitag District of Dagestan, the local authorities have informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that by June 25, a total of 345 people remained in the territory of the "Ogonyok" children's camp in Dagestan, the district administration reported. On June 23, a group of 110 Azerbaijanis left Dagestan for Azerbaijan. All the remaining camp tenants will be able to return to their homeland by the end of June, the Dagestani Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) has promised.

A group of 110 Azerbaijani citizens has returned to their homeland through the Dagestani "Yarag-Kazmalyar" international customs checkpoint, said Garun Davydov, a Dagestani Deputy Minister for National Policy and Religious Affairs. "Another group of Azerbaijani citizens of 110 people has left home," the TASS quoted him in the evening on June 25.

Mr Davydov has added that over 500 Azerbaijani citizens are still waiting in Russia to return home.
