Chechen “Akhmat” promises to pay Khabib up to 6 million US dollars for a farewell fight

A proposal to hold a farewell fight under the auspices of the “Akhmat” club was voiced by Ramzan Kadyrov himself, so the club will find 440 million roubles for the remuneration, announces Aslanbek Badaev, the vice-president of Absolute Championship Akhmat League.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on May 13, Ramzan Kadyrov announced his willingness to pay Khabib Nurmagomedov the remuneration whatever he would request for a victory over a fighter from the “Akhmat” club. At the same time, the leader of Chechnya also reproached the Dagestani fighter for performing under the auspices of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), and not under the flag of Russia. Khabib Nurmagomedov ignored the challenge to the battle and considered Ramzan Kadyrov’s statements inoffensive. Some Instagram users believe that Khabib Nurmagomedov reacted with patience to the statements voiced by Ramzan Kadyrov, as the fighter wants to avoid a conflict.

During the “HookVam” show on YouTube, Aslanbek Badaev, the vice-president of the Absolute Championship Akhmat League, has claimed that the proposal “to pay any money requested” for the Khabib Nurmagomedov’s fight remains valid. Aslanbek Badaev has noted that not only the Khabib Nurmagomedov’s desire is in the question, since the UFC will oppose such a fight.

In April 2018, Khabib Nurmagomedov became the first ever Russian citizen in the UFC who won the champion title. On October 24, 2020, he defeated US athlete Justin Gaethje and defended his UFC lightweight champion title. After that, Khabib Nurmagomedov announced that he was ending his career as a fighter.
