Internet users argue about Grozny residents’ apologies for a joke about law enforcers

The public apology became an excessive punishment for two residents of the Chechen capital for a joke report about an alleged detention of policemen, note Instagram users who watched a report released by the “Grozny” TV Channel. YouTube users found the joke of the Grozny resident provocatively inappropriate.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on May 8, the “Grozny” ChGTRK (Chechen State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company) released a TV report in which two residents of Grozny apologized for their joke report about the alleged detention of Chechen law enforcers and the release of all people arrested for drinking alcoholic beverages. In the TV report, the police explained that one of the Grozny residents recorded an audio with a joke, and the other posted it on the Internet.

In their comments under the story in the Instagram public account “ChP/Chechnya”, users considered the public apology an excessive punishment for the joke. “Wow, what have they done? They have just talked to each other and nothing more,” wrote, in particular, user adam_moskva555. “So, it turns out that people may deliver vodka to a ‘Lenta’ store, but may not make fun of it? I don’t understand what kind of nonsense it is,” user rozetta_095 perplexed. “This is the period of time we live in right now. You may sell vodka, but you may not voice any jokes of it,” user murad_eltuev95 replied.

In turn, while commenting on the video entitled “Kadyrov’s law enforcers are angered by a joke recorded by residents of Grozny”, posted on May 9 on the “V Mire Segodnya” (World News for Today) YouTube channel, some users criticized the authors of the joke report.

“It is an absurd act to make fun of good people. If the men do something like that again, they should be subjected to beating with sticks to remember the lesson once and for ever,” wrote, in particular, user Critic Shavadi. “This is not a joke, this is slander,” user Student expressed the opinion.
