Police refuse to let advocates visit Gadjiev

Ibragim Gadjiev, a witness in a case against police officers Raip and Ziyavudin Ashikov, was brought to a police station in Makhachkala. Law enforcers refused to let advocates visit him.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on the evening of April 1, law enforcers blocked a car of Ibragim Gadjiev and did not let him drive away from the building of the Kirov District Court in Makhachkala. Ibragim Gadjiev spent the night in the car. Ibragim Gadjiev did not leave the car until this afternoon, when the police tried to cover the car with a tarpaulin canopy to close it from the activists.

After Ibragim Gadjiev left the car, the police took him to the Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for the Kirov District of Makhachkala. Advocate Sapiyat Magomedova also went there, the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent reported from the scene.

Upon their arrival at the MIA’s Division for the Kirov District, the advocates were informed that the plan “Fortress” had been imposed in it. Under that pretext, none of the defenders was allowed into the building.
