Tumso disagrees with CoA's findings about attack on him in Sweden

The decision of the Court of Appeal (CoA) in Sweden, which found the link of the attack on Tumso Abdurakhmanov with the Chechen authorities unproved, will be appealed against, the blogger has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 11, a court in Sweden found the Russian citizens, Ruslan Mamaev and Elmira Shapiaeva, to be figurants in the attack on the blogger from Chechnya, Tumso Abdurakhmanov, and sentenced them to ten and eight years of imprisonment, respectively. On April 1, the CoA ruled to increase Mamaev's imprisonment up to 12 years; while Shapiaeva's charge was re-qualified under a softer article; and her term of imprisonment was reduced from eight years to one and a half years. At the same time, the CoA failed to state that the results of the investigation made it possible to draw a definite conclusion about the motives of the attack or about the link thereof with the Chechen leadership.

The conclusion of the CoA of the Swedish Region of Lower Norrland that the results of the investigation do not allow stating that the crime was connected with the Chechen leadership will be appealed against, Tumso Abdurakhmanov has stated.

"Apparently, the CoA had waited for a confession from Ramzan Kadyrov," the blogger has noticed ironically.
