Protesters declare danger of early elections for Armenian statehood

The forces hostile to Armenia may benefit from the early elections, the leaders of the "National Democratic Pole" Movement have stated. The rally organized by them was attended by about a thousand people.

On March 20, the above movement held another rally in Freedom Square in Yerevan, which, according to organizers, was about a thousand people strong, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

The protesters stretched out a large Armenian tricolour. They were holding flags of Armenia, USA, France and the European Union. They chanted "Free independent Armenia!" and "Neither the last, nor the current – national future!" meaning that they support neither Pashinyan nor the political forces that were in power before the "Velvet Revolution" of 2018.

External forces are trying to use the early elections to complete their programme of destructing the Armenian statehood, Garegin Chugaszyan, one of the leaders of the "National Democratic Pole" Movement, stated at the rally. "After Premier's resignation, we should put pressure on the Parliament and elect a people's candidate for the Prime Minister, who will realize a programme to overcome the crisis and stabilize the situation," the oppositionist stated.

The movement has scheduled the next action for March 27.
