Ingush activists demand to release Zarifa Sautieva from custody

The leaders of the Ingush protest, accused together with Zarifa Sautieva of creating an extremist community, called the release of the activist from custody the goal of their hunger strike. Advocate Magomed Abubakarov announced the above and promised to appeal against the return of Zarifa Sautieva to the SIZO (pre-trial prison).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 10, Zarifa Sautieva was transferred from the SIZO to house arrest. However, today, the court has ruled to return the activist to custody. After that, the leaders of the Ingush protest, accused in the case of the rally in Magas, declared a hunger strike.

Ingush activists, in particular Akhmed Barakhoev, Malsag Uzhakhov, and Musa Malsagov, went on a hunger strike in connection with the change in the pre-trial restriction measure for Zarifa Sautieva, the lawyer explained.

The General Prosecutor's Office appealed against the change in the pre-trial restriction measure for Zarifa Sautieva and explained that the activist "could hide from the court," said advocate Bilan Dzugaev.

According to the advocate, the court did not take into account the numerous arguments presented by the defence.
