Oppositional Azerbaijani blogger wounded in France

Mukhammed Mirzali, who lives in France, was attacked by an unknown man who stabbed him several times.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in 2018, the Azerbaijani blogger Mukhammed Mirzali, together with the bloggers Ordukhan Temirkhan and Tural Sadygly held a protest campaign in social networks entitled "Let's Tell About Dictator", timed to the appointment of early presidential election in Azerbaijan and the nomination of Ilham Aliev.

Mukhammed Mirzali was attacked by an unknown person in France on March 14. The attacker stabbed him several times and fled, the "Turan" News Agency writes.

According to the agency, Mirzali was hospitalized in grave condition; and an investigation is underway.

Earlier, in October 2020, the blogger reported an assassination attempt, as well as SMS messages with threats received from Azerbaijani officials.
