In 2006, ten mine explosions registered in Karabakh

In Nagorny Karabakh, the process of mine clearing is performed by army sapper units, the fast reaction group of the Rescue Service, and also by the forces of the international organization "The Hallo Trust."

In 2006, in the territory of Nagorny Karabakh, where there are still many mine fields, 10 mine and ammunition explosions took place. As a result of the explosions, 12 persons suffered and two of them were killed. There were 76 cases of detection of arms and ammunition, compared to 69 cases in 2005.

In 2006, the logbook of operative watch of the Rescue Service of Nagorny Karabakh registered a total of 1231 emergency accidents, of them 969 cases of technogenic character, 58 cases of acts of nature, and 204 - of social character. In comparison with 2005, the number of registered emergency accidents went up by 43.8%, or by 540 cases.

As a result of the above accidents, during the specified period, a total of 14 persons perished and 78 more were injured.
