Remains of eight casualties found in Nagorno-Karabakh

During the search works conducted in the Karabakh conflict zone, remains of a resident of Gadrut and seven Armenian soldiers were found, the State Emergency Service of Nagorno-Karabakh has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that by January 18, 2021, the remains of three more military servicemen were found in the Karabakh conflict zone, making the total number of bodies found equal to 1238.

The full-scale combat actions took place in Nagorno-Karabakh in the period from September 27 to November 9, 2020. The "Caucasian Knot" has released a map marking the deployment of peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh. Another map prepared by the "Caucasian Knot" indicates what territories Azerbaijan got after the autumn war.

The remains of seven more servicemen and one civilian were found during search operations in the Karabakh conflict zone, Unan Tadevosyan, the head of the PR division of the Karabakh's State Emergency Service, has reported today.

"The bodies of a civilian and a soldier were found in the territory of the Aigestan village of the Gadrut District of Nagorno-Karabakh. The bodies of five more soldiers were found in the territory of Djebrail; the body of one serviceman was found in the former administrative territory of David Bek, Syunik Region of Armenia," the "Sputnik-Armenia" quotes Mr Tadevosyan as saying today.

According to his story, a forensic medical examination has been appointed to identify the bodies. The resident of Gadrut, born in 1976, was identified in the morgue by his relatives by his clothes. Today, the search works will continue with the participation of casualties' relatives and volunteers familiar with the terrains. Since the start of the search works, the bodies and remains of 1246 military servicemen and civilians have been found in the combat zone, the official of the State Emergency Service of Nagorno-Karabakh has reported.
