Kantemir Balagov invited to film HBO serial

Kantemir Balagov, a film director from Kabardino-Balkaria will film at the Hollywood the first episodes of the serial "Some of Us", the producer of the serial has stated, comparing Balagov's creative success with the Cinderella story. In his turn, the young filmmaker called the work on this serial his dream.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Balagov's last film, "Dylda", was put on the Russian shortlist of candidates for the Oscar Award and received a number of prizes at international film festivals.

Balagov will stage the first episodes of the HBO serial "Some of Us", which will be written by Craig Mazin, the author of the "Chernobyl" serial, Alexander Rodnyansky, Balagov's producer, has stated. The serial will be based on the popular computer game "The Last Of Us".

The producer has noted in his Instagram that it was the success of "Dylda" that became the reason why the HBO got interested in Balagov.
