Nikol Pashinyan's opponents block three motorways in Armenia

Today, residents of Armenia, who demand the resignation of Nikol Pashinyan, have blocked the motorways from Vanadzor to Yerevan, from Ijevan to Yerevan, and from Vanadzor to Dilijan. In Yerevan, opposition supporters held a rally in front of the government building. The opposition called on residents of the country to take part in the nationwide strike.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 21, residents of the Syunik Region blocked the road to prevent the Nikol Pashinyan's arrival.

Today, in the centre of Yerevan, a rally of opposition supporters demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister has began on Republic Square, in front of the government building.

"We have one demand: the resignation of the man sitting in that building, who glued himself to the prime minister's chair. He is a man who has lost his homeland," said at the rally Gegam Manukyan, a member of the "Dashnaktsutyun" Party, as quoted by the "News-Armenia".

Protest actions take place not only in Yerevan. According to Gegam Manukyan, residents of Armenia blocked three motorways in the country. "The roads from Vanadzor to Yerevan, from Ijevan to Yerevan, and from Vanadzor to Dilijan are blocked. People are demanding the resignation of Nikol Pashinyan," the "News-Armenia" quotes Gegam Manukyan as saying.

The opposition announced a nationwide strike starting since December 22 and called on the people not to go to work and study, but to join the protest action, the "News-Armenia" reports.
