Djabiev's mother states authorities' indifference to Tskhinvali protesters' demands

After a scuffle with the police, the participants of the action in support of Inal Djabiev, who died after interrogation within the case of the attempted murder of the head of the South-Ossetian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), managed to set up an awning to protect them from the rain. The authorities are ignoring protesters' demands, Inal Djabiev's mother has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 4, Djabiev's relatives launched an endless protest action in Tskhinvali. They demand an efficient inquiry into Inal's death, punishment of those responsible and resignation of the Prosecutor General. Every day in the evening, up to 200 protesters gather in the square.

On December 17, the protesters decided to set up an awning to protect them from the rain, but armed law enforcers approached them and tried to interfere. A scuffle started; law enforcers snatched a smartphone from one of the women, to which she was filming the incident. Another female activist fell down; and they had to call an ambulance for her.

After the scuffle, they allowed the protesters to set up the awning.

On December 17, up to 40 protesters remained in the square. From the Djabiev family, Inal's mother Maya stayed there for the whole night. She has noted that so far none of the authorities had come out to the protesters.
