Nagorno-Karabakh reports 206 civilian victims

As a result of shelling of peaceful settlements, the death toll rose to 49; 157 other civilians were wounded, Artak Beglaryan, the Ombudsperson of Nagorno-Karabakh, has stated. Unan Tadevosyan, an employee of the Nagorno-Karabakh's Emergency Service, has added that Stepanakert was shelled from cluster missiles; houses were destroyed there.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Emergency Service of Nagorno-Karabakh had informed that at night the cities of Stepanakert and Shushi were attacked by missiles; three people perished.

Artak Beglaryan, the Ombudsperson of Nagorno-Karabakh, has stated that he has no hope for any help from the international community.

For international organizations to make some decision, they need to go through a complicated and long procedure, said Nina Karapetyants, the head of the Helsinki Association of Armenia. She also pointed out that international organizations are strongly engaged.

Still, there were some reactions from international organizations, said Artak Kirakosyan, the head of the Civil Society Institute of Armenia. He recalled that statements were made by the Human Rights Watch, the Amnesty International and the FIDH (International Federation for Human Rights). However, he believes that the calls of these organizations are unaddressed. It is technically difficult for human rights organizations to come and record facts on the spot because of the intense hostilities, Mr Kirakosyan believes.
