Putin's statement about situation in France does not become Kadyrov's trump card

Following Ramzan Kadyrov, in his speech, Vladimir Putin has condemned those who in France offend the feelings of believers under the guise of freedom of speech. The speech of the Russian President will not enhance the authority of the leader of Chechnya among Muslims in Russia or in the Arab countries, Caucasian experts suggest.

The President Putin's speech will not rise the rating of Ramzan Kadyrov "to such heights that Russian Muslims would recognize him as an informal leader," political analyst Alexei Malashenko believes. According to him, the Ramzan Kadyrov's attempts to take advantage of the situation in France to strengthen his authority among the Arab countries ended in failure.

"Ramzan Kadyrov has repeatedly tried to declare himself as an authoritative politician among the Arab states. In the autumn of 2017, he began to pursue his foreign policy by publicly standing up for the oppressed Rohingya Muslims in Burma, in contradiction to the position of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA)," Alexei Malashenko explained.

Meanwhile, according to the expert, attacks against President Macron "irritate Moscow," since the relations between Russia and France are "more or less normal" now.

Ramzan Kadyrov has more than once tried to declare himself as a politician, but his visits to the countries of the Middle East were not crowned with particular success, believes Mikhail Roschin, a Caucasian expert.

Svetlana Gannushkina, the chair of the "Civic Assistance Committee", has added that a generation of Ramzan Kadyrov's "fosterlings" is growing in Chechnya, and they consider him as their idol.
