Russian COVID-19 hospital deployed in Tskhinvali amid shortage of hospital beds

In Tskhinvali, the Russian military personnel have set up a mobile hospital for patients diagnosed with COVID-19, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) reports. While explaining the need for a mobile hospital, the chief resuscitator of South Ossetia has noted that the republic's hospitals were facing shortage of beds because of the rapid increase in the number of people infected with coronavirus.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 21, in South Ossetia, all schools were transferred to distance learning because of the worsening situation with the coronavirus infection, and on October 22, the republic's authorities imposed a mask regime.

In Tskhinvali, the Russian military personnel of the Western Military District have deployed a multi-role hospital to treat patients infected with coronavirus, the "Interfax" reports today.

Alexander Pliev, the chief resuscitator of South Ossetia, puts high hopes on the mobile hospital deployed by the Russian military personnel. "We are looking forward to the opening of this hospital, while the number of patients is increasing every hour," said Alexander Pliev as quoted by the "Sputnik-Ossetia" today.

"In hospitals, wards are overcrowded, and we have to locate some patients in corridors and in intensive care wards," Alexander Pliev said.
