PFPA activist Ruslan Amirov detained in Baku

His fellow party members have linked the detention of Ruslan Amirov, an activist of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA) with his political activities.

"On October 9, Amirov was taken right from his home by the people who introduced themselves as Baku policemen. No reasons were explained," Tezekhan Miralamli, the head of the PFPA's press service, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

He saw political motives in Amirov's detention. "Since the start of 2020, he has already been arrested twice. He is on a voluntary bodyguard of Ali Kerimli, the leader of our party. Authorities are periodically pressing everyone who is close to Kerimli," Mr Miralamli has stated.

Let us remind you that Ruslan Amirov was arrested this April for 30 days, and detained again on May 28, after which he was sentenced to 15 days of arrest.
