Court refuses to fine Dagestani activist Malikat Djabirova

In Makhachkala, a court ruled that the guilt of Malikat Djabirova, the chair of the board of the NGO "Mother and Child", in violation of the law on foreign agents has not been proven.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Prosecutor's Office for the Leninsky District of Makhachkala found signs of political activities in an interview of Malikat Djabirova, the chair of the NGO "Mother and Child" in Dagestan. Prosecutors suggest that Malikat Djabirova should be fined under the law on foreign agents. The NGO is not a foreign agent, and the interview with Malikat Djabirova posted on the social network is a fake, an advocate states.

Today, the Leninsky District Court of Makhachkala has refused to bring Malikat Djabirova to administrative responsibility, because it found her guilt to be unproven, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by Maria Kanevskaya, an advocate of the activist.

The defence pointed out to the court there was no evidence that Malikat Djabirova was somehow connected with the article posted on the social network "Facebook", Maria Kanevskaya explained.
