Examination has confirmed: Basaev was killed in Ingushetia

A gene-molecular examination has confirmed that the remains of the terrorist liquidated in Ingushetia that were delivered for investigation belong exactly to Shamil Basaev. The RIA "Novosti" reported the fact on December 27 at the Prosecutor General's Office for the South Federal District.

Shamil Basaev was assassinated at night of July 10, 2006, in the suburb of the village of Ekazhevo of the Nazran District of Ingushetia as a result of a special operation. Twelve more militants, including Tarkhan Ganizhev, Doku Umarov's aide, were liquidated along with him. According to special services, they were preparing a massive terrorist act in Ingushetia.
