Six solo picketers support journalist Gadjiev in Makhachkala

Makhachkala townspeople have actively supported the picketers in support of the arrested journalist, Abdulmumin Gadjiev; and one passer-by joined the action, said Magomed Magomedov, a deputy editor-in-chief of the "Chernovik" (Draft) weekly.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Abdulmumin Gadjiev has been under arrest since June 2019, charged with financing terrorism. He insists on his innocence.

On September 7, his friends and colleagues held a series of pickets in support of the journalist.

"A lot of cars honked; and drivers raised their hands in support," said Magomed Magomedov, a deputy editor-in-chief of the "Chernovik".

Such passers-by's reaction proves that many residents of Dagestan know about Gadjiev's case and are in solidarity with his colleagues demanding his release.

The case against Gadjiev was fabricated, Mavludin, a picketer, is sure. He believes that any resident of Dagestan can find himself in a similar situation.
