Azerbaijan claims 45 shelling attacks in conflict zone

The positions of the Azerbaijani troops were shelled in two border areas, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Azerbaijan reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 24, Azerbaijan claimed 28 shelling attacks from Armenia over 24 hours.

"Units of the armed forces of Armenia used large-calibre machine guns and sniper rifles and 45 times violated the ceasefire in various directions of the front over 24 hours," the Azerbaijani MoD reported on its official website.

According to the Azerbaijani MoD, the positions of the Azerbaijani troops were shelled in the villages of Agdam, Kokhanebi, and Agbulag in the Tovuz District and at the unnamed heights in the Gadabay District.

Let us remind you that the conflict escalated on July 12. Azerbaijan accused Armenia of trying to attack its positions. According to the Armenian side, the escalation of the situation in the region was triggered by an attempt to break through the border committed by the Azerbaijani troops. According to the official information, in the period from July 12 to July 27, six soldiers from the Armenian side were killed, while other 35 soldiers, two policemen, and one civilian were wounded. The authorities of Azerbaijan reported about 13 killed people, including 12 soldiers and one civilian, and four wounded soldiers.
