12 people fell victim to teip conflict in Ingushetia

In Sunzha, nine participants of a conflict with a shooting were wounded, while three others were injured during a fight, sources reported.

According to a source, a clash occurred between members of two teips (family clans) from the submountain village of Arshty. "Yesterday, residents of the Arshty village participated in a fight in Sunzha, and on Tuesday, the conflict continued in the village of Berd-Yurt. Participants of the conflict used knives, sticks, and traumatic pistols. Some of them got cut wounds and injuries," the source reported.

According to the source, the conflict could arise over a vacancy in the village administration, the "Interfax" reports.

Teips are family clan communities typical for the Ingush and Chechen ethnic groups. Today, teip connections still retain their importance in Northern Caucasus.

It should be noted that the conflict in Sunzha took place amid four other armed incidents in the Sunzha District since the early 2020. So, on August 23, a counterterrorist operation (CTO) was announced in the village of Troitskoye. According to the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC), three supporters of the "Islamic State", a terrorist organization banned in Russia by the court, were killed in a shootout, and two law enforcers were wounded.
